The Calgary Renegades Water Polo Club is delighted to announce that we will be providing funding for any currently registered athletes in good standing with the club and WPC that are selected to any of the following Age Group National Teams (AGNT) programs competing in the 2025 calendar year:
- Cadet (15U & 16U)
- Youth (17U & 18U)
- Junior (19U & 20U)
This initiative came about as a way to show our continued support to our athletes for their hard work and dedication to the sport of Water Polo.
As a club, we know that the financial challenges increase every year for our selected athletes to be able to afford the necessary fees to compete internationally representing Canada and would like to provide some assistance to make these experiences possible.
For the 2025 calendar year the program will follow the criterias outlined below.
- The total amount of available funding will be $10,000.00
- The above stated amount will be divided by the total number of eligible athletes up to a maximum of $1500.00 per athlete.
- 10 athletes selected $1000/athlete
- 9 athletes selected $1111/athlete
- 8 athletes selected $1250/athlete
- 7 athletes selected $1428/athlete
- 6 athletes selected or less $1500/athlete
Should any athlete make multiple AGNT teams in one calendar year, they have the option to split the maximum amount by the number of teams made or use the full amount for a single team.
**For each AGNT team selection a separate application must be submitted.**
Any amount left over for the year will be carried over to the next calendar year and be topped up to that year’s agreed upon amount.
The selected athletes will receive their funding to coincide with WPC's last payment installment date. The athlete is responsible to inform the club of such a date in the application form.
To be eligible for this funding, athletes must be currently registered with the club and can apply by emailing the president of the club at president@calgaryrenegades.ca and filling out the google form application.
